This came from a long period of time when I was very sick, and I came to love my bed. However uncomfortable it was, it was always there, with stains and holes that acted as reminders for better and more able-bodied days. Like the sea, the sheets seem to hold more than a simple aesthetic. I am obsessed with photographing unmade beds, which serve as stages for the past and uncover the times of love-making, waking, and a place of solace that every person can identify.
